Somewhere in the embers of last century, the work of songwriter and poet and shaman Billie Reid started to exert a pull on other independent-minded Australian talents. Stories can, and maybe will, be read about those adventures. At this point, the vessel for that work has been our independent music label ‘Soundscape Media’, though internally we’re just as likely to refer to our entity as ‘Ode To The Dudes’.

Sharing the load, and bringing a canny female take on Billie’s words, is versatile Fremantle-based singer-songwriter Lily, in-house stormcrow Quinlan Porteous, crooner Wayne A. Halifax, and Australia’s ‘Voice of Romance’ Alfredo Malabello.

Our sounds dip in and out of alt-rock, Americana, and sophisto-pop. We can do polished, but we’re a fan of loose edges and first take magic too. We look forward to hearing from you – about what we’ve done, what we’re doing now, and what we could perhaps do together.

“Billie Reid isn’t desperate for fame, he won’t play that game. Reclusive and flying under the radar he eschews the road of rock’n roll excess and fake outrage, and in his own way his game plan has made him the underdog. It’s a dangerous game fickle game that can lead to nowhere, but with this territory comes credibility and I guess this is priceless and Billie has it by the bucket load”

“In fact I’m pretty sure that if Einstein managed to get his SECOND theory done, which he was saying, just before he died actually, he said “OF COURSE RELATIVITY’S WRONG, OF COURSE YOU CAN GO FASTER THAN LIGHT. MY NEW THEORY PROVES IT. I’m working on it at the moment” …. except he probably said it in a more Germanic accent”

“… my favourite part of any good walk, that 1st glimpse each time of the rocks and “cliffs” before Victoria River as you 1st walk in from west oz, because you know Katherine ain’t “far” ...
